...also interesting to note that the place next door took out some original windows and built an entire new floor...

So it was the right building! What caught my eye the first time I saw the top photo was the McDonalds signage display on this building. It was actually pretty good by Chilean standards and did not appear to drown out or compete with the facade of this building. From a planning perspective McDonalds can be a major pain in the arse when it comes to their display of advertising signage. Its good to see that they did a reasonable job here, at least.
Did UNESCO make any recommendations for the display of signage in the world heritage precinct as with the undergrounding of the electricity cables? Signage is one of those intrusive things that can be easily overlooked in the grand scheme of things sometimes. Are the UNESCO recommendations for Valparaiso are easily accessible on the net? I've not come across them in my searches...
Yes, all-from what i've gathered from various people- signs are supposed to be unobtrusive and non-sticky out. Whether this will ever be enforced is anyone's guess-i've seen a lot of new signs that clearly don't comply with the regulations.
I love the way the people here interact and shared their opinions too & i agree with all. I would love to rack your future posts pertaining to the said topic we are able to read.

Yeah, the signs weren't too intrusive at all. No idea when McDo's left though.
